Friday, JUNE 6, from 5:00-9:00 pm
Historical Society Dinner & Music Program
Location: Western Ridge Restaurant, Gate 1, Glacier View Meados
Happy Hour starts at 5 pm, cash bar. Buffet Dinner at 6 pm. Annual meeting starts at 7 pm, followed the entertainment from Dan Eilers, American Folksinger at 7:30 pm. Dan will treat us to a classic sense of humor and some blues, a dab of ragtime, folk and country.
Cost is $16 for members; $20 for non-members.

Wednesday, JUNE 18, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Swetsville Zoo, Bruce’s Bar, A.J. Eaton House Museum and Maxwell’s Historical Museum
Location & Deatils: Meet at Glacier View Office, Gate 8 at 9:00 AM sharp. We will car pool to Bill Swets Zoo – 4801 E. Harmony Rd. – 10:00 AM and then have lunch at Bruce’s Bar. You will pay for your own meal. After lunch we will go to the Eaton House & Lee Maxwell’s in Eaton.
Cost $10.00 per person which covers museum costs.

Friday, JUNE 27, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
History of Red Feather Lakes 103 Series: Red Feather Lakes Historic Site Walking Tour to Heart Rock with Nancy Tipton
Location & Details: Meet at the RFL Library at 9:00. Park at the RFHS Robinson Cabin where we will car pool to Dowdy Lake to start the walking tour. Bring water, sunscreen, sack lunch, wear hat and good walking shoes.
About the Series: The RF Historical Society and RFL Community Library are
partnering to offer you more options to learn about the history of the area. History of Red Feather 103 will be presented this year in several ways using the RFHS Historic Sites Map, “Red Feather Lakes the first hundred years” and local historians.
Co-Sponsored by the Red Feather Historical Society and the Red Feather Lakes Library.
Cost: Free for members.

History of Red Feather Lakes 103 Series: Greens and Drake Family by Jean Emond
Location & Details: Meet at the RFL Library in the Stenzel room. Find more information about Heart Rock in “Red Feather Lakes the first hundred years 1871-1971” (page 72, 81). Book is available for purchase.
Cost: Free for members.

Wednesday, JULY 16, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Laramie River Ranch Tour & Glendevey Ranch

Location & Details: Meet at Glacier View Office, Gate 8 at 8:30 am sharp or RF Historical Cabin parking lot at 9:00 AM. We will go via Deadman Road. We will meet at Laramie River Ranch at 10:00 am where we will tour the historical ranch and have lunch and go to the Old Glendevey Ranch. Bring water, sunscreen, sack lunch, wear hat and good walking shoes. Cost: $5 for members; $10 for non-members.

Saturday, JULY 26, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Art & History of the American West Art by Judith Toliver, Art Historian
Location & Details: Meet at the RFL Library in the Stenzel room. Judith Toliver will discuss Classic Western Art using slides to illustrate painting & sculpture from the Old West. She will begin with a survey of the artists who painted the Trans-Mississippi west from post-Lewis and Clark Expedition to the modern times.
Cost: Free for members.

Wednesday, AUGUST 20, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Upper Poudre Canyon Tour with Sandra Case Lundt
Locations & Details: We will tour several sites in Poudre Canyon with Sandra and others. Meet at Glacier View Office, Gate 8 at 9:00 am sharp or RF Historical Cabin parking lot at 9:00 am to car pool to 74E turn off to the Boy Scout Road. Bring water, sunscreen, sack lunch, wear hat and good walking shoes. Cost is $5 per person. The Arrowhead Lodge is now a National Historic Site and Forest Service Information Center. The struggle to preserve this Historic Site is a tribute to Dedicated Pioneer Families of the Poudre Canyon. Formerly a guest resort, this 1930s rustic and historic log building nestled in the pines is located at 7,400 feet in elevation along a Scenic Byway and nationally recognized Wild and Scenic River.
Cost: $5 for members; $10 for non-members.

Saturday, SEPTEMBER 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Archaeology of Livermore Area by Dr. Jason LaBelle, Director Laboratory of Public Archaeology and Assistant Professor at CSU
Locations & Details: Meet in the RFL POA. Dr. Jason LaBelle and graduate students will present new findings on the Roberts Buffalo Jump which dates to the 17th century and Halllie’s resent research on two stone circle (tipi ring) sites in the Livermore area which represents two occupations that correspond with changes in land use between the Middle to Late Ceramic periods (AD 1150-1860).

Friday, SEPTEMBER 12, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Meadows Tour by Debra Hawkins & Pat Clemens
Location & Details: Meet at the RF Historical Society Cabin in Red Feather Lakes at 8:30 AM. To attend this tour, participants must read The Meadow by James Galvin. Bring snacks & lunch. There are not any restroom facilities on this trip so you will have to tree or bush it. 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles only so we will need to carpool.
Cost: $5 for members; $10 for non-members.
