  • 4:00 Red Feather Lakes, Colorado
  • Rented Elk Horn cabin from G.C. Wallace-rate $12.50

August 21

  • Looked at California lodging cuttings “Neamia”- 18X36 windows covered
  • Pauline took mother with her and went fishing-returned around 8PM. Hugh caught 2 dozen fish and Pauline brought a huge bouquet of wildflowers.

August 22

  • Looked at Chas O Wood cottage on Lake Nokomis. $850.00 with contents. Took mom, Pauline, Janice, over with Mrs. Phipps again and looked through it. Furnishings complete and cozy, and well built. Talked it over with Hugh Drake. Offer was accepted with $50.00 down payment.

  • Chicken dinner at Phipps-$5.10
  • Aug. 27 told Wallace to figure bill-Paid Wallace store $22.00-annual membership $5.00.
  • Took mom on new road but she got scared so we returned.
  • Hugh Drake took me to CCC camp and met Lou Young deputy forest ranger
  • Ed Wolcott came to call in the evening
  • Mom and Janice went to church.
