Marvin L. “Red” Ashby, 82, of Cherokee Park, Colo., passed away on Nov. 25.
Red was born Nov. 5, 1929, to Bill and Leota Ashby in Fort Collins.
Red married Dolores “Dee” Harvey at the Cherokee Park Dude Ranch on July 12, 1951. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He spent 30 years maintaining roads for Larimer County Road and Bridge and ranched in his off time. He was a very talented artist and carpenter.
Red and Dee also ran the Homestead Store out of their home for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years; his parents; a sister, Eileen; and a brother, Herbert.
Red is survived by his son, Mike (Mary); daughters Micky Ashby (Grant Segelke) and Melanie (George) Hersh; a brother, John (Margaret); sisters Dorothy (Chuck) Laidlaw and Carol (Warren) Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend Barbara Hersh.
